Just to say with only 3 days left on my subscription (5 years ago in 2019) my inbox pinged with someone who I am about to get married to.
I had had some disastrous dates on other sites etc and a mixed bunch on here so had decided not to renew my subscription instead take up organised challenges to meet people.
Our first date was a cinema outing (later found out it was because he didn't think we would have much in common; he is an academic I am a widowed housewife). Then as lock down hit we took the plunge to move in together. And here we are about to marry. Second time around for us both;older and wiser to life and relationships. I honestly have met the love of my life. Thank you. And for the people reading this an doubting the algorithm. Stick with it. We were a 63% match but it worked. (Turned out I had ticked tatoo by mistake which was a definite no for him).

This is to thank you guys for helping me find the love of my life. It started in 2013 as a long-distance relationship for many years. It was after my retirement that I really found the time to concentrate on the relationship.
I’m happy to announce that we are now engaged and planning to get married in April of 2024. Thank you once again to you guys, as it was called when I first joined the dating platform.
It is not cheap nor easy, dating across the continents of Africa and America, because of the distance and time zone differences. Luckily it worked for me and I hope that it works for others too.

I was just going through my email and realised that my friend had me open an account for him a few years ago when I thought...I should write and thank you for the role you played in my life.
I joined in the early part of 2000's.
I was probably online searching for the right partner for approximately 3 or 4 years I guess.
I dated a LOT during that time. Id literally line up coffee dates for a Friday night, Saturday lunch time and maybe even Saturday night drinks.
It was hectic...LOL.
During this time I met some really good people who I became good friends with but I couldn't quite find "the one".
Then one day, when I was feeling like this is it....I'm done with the whole online dating thing....there he arrived.
He had joined the site just recently and we had spoken on the phone once but I felt there was no spark right from the start. Next thing, he pitched up at my work with flowers in hand and the brightest smile I've ever seen.
It was December 2005. We moved in together in February 2006 and got married in April 2007.
This year we celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary!
It's not been easy in many respects as we've had to go through a lot of problems that were not our fault but without each other we would never have made it out in one piece.
I adore him and he adores me.
